Cristina M. Pinotti

Full Professor

She received the Master degree cum laude in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1986. In 1987-1999, she was Researcher with the National Council of Research in Pisa. In 2000-2003, she was Associate Professor at the University of Trento. Since 2004, she is a Full Professor at the University of Perugia. Her current research interests include the design and analysis of algorithms, combinatorial optimization, emerging technologies, wireless sensor networks, and communication networks.

Alfredo Navarra

Full Professor

He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2004 from "Sapienza" University of Rome. Before joining the University of Perugia in 2007, he has been with various international research institutes like the INRIA of Sophia Antipolis, France; the Dept of Computer Science at the Univ. of L'Aquila, Italy; the LaBRI, Univ. of Bordeaux, France. Since 2023, he is a Full Professor at the University of Perugia. His research interests include algorithms, computational complexity, distributed computing and networking.

Francesco Betti Sorbelli

Francesco Betti Sorbelli

Associate Professor

He received the Bachelor and Master degrees cum laude in Computer Science from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 2007 and 2010, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Florence, Italy, in 2018. He was a postdoc researcher at the Missouri University of Science and Technology University, USA, under the supervision of Prof. Sajal K. Das in 2020, and at the University of Perugia in 2018, 2021-2022 under the supervision of Cristina M. Pinotti. Since October 2025, he is an associate professor at the University of Perugia. His research interests include algorithms design, combinatorial optimization, and unmanned vehicles.

Francesco Piselli

He is currently a second year Ph.D. student under the supervision of Prof. Alfredo Navarra at the University of Florence, Italy. His research interests include distributed algorithms and approximation algorithms.

She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electronic Science from the University of Calcutta, India, and Jadavpur University, India, in 2020 and 2022, respectively. She is currently a first-year Ph.D. student at the University of Florence, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Cristina M. Pinotti and Dr. Francesco Betti Sorbelli. Her research interests include the design and analysis of algorithms, communication networks, IoT, and unmanned vehicles.

He received the Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Science from the University of Tabriz and the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences, Zanjan, Iran. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Gran Sasso Science Institute, L'Aquila, Italy. His research interests lie in algorithms design, combinatorial optimization, and algorithmic fairness.

Federico Corò

Federico Corò

Assistant Professor

He received his BSc and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Perugia in 2014 and 2016, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Gran Sasso Science Institute in L'Aquila, Italy in 2019. Prior to his current position, he was a postdoctoral researcher at La Sapienza University of Rome in Italy from 2019 to 2020, at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in the United States from 2021 to 2022, and the University of Perugia from 2022 to 2023. He is currently an assistant professor (RTDa) at the Mathematics department of the University of Padua in Italy. His research interests include various areas of theoretical computer science, such as combinatorial optimization, network analysis, and algorithm design and implementation.
